May Long Weekend
For the long weekend we had a visit from Aunty Sara & Uncle Tom. Despite Hudson's disinterested look in this picture, he LOVED having them at our house. In fact, he even said "no Momma, just Aunty Sara" a few times. He did lots of running, playing and laughing with them. And they left us with a few new games to play with Hudson, including an odd way to play puzzles with a clamp and a spoon. A video will be up on the blog about this soon, hopefully. Thanks for the visit Sara & Tom!
One day when we were eating lunch Hudson was gabbering and doing a bit of whining so we weren't paying a ton of attention to him. But as he was holding the last little piece of his peanut butter bun in his hand he kept saying "eyes...eyes." When we put him down for his nap and started cleaning up Sara noticed that the last little piece of bun did in fact look like it had eyes and a mouth on it. Sorry for not paying better attention, Hudson!

I am my Mother's Daughter
As Hudson sat eating his lunch out of his sectioned plate I thought to myself "I am my mother's daughter" since I used to get my lunch served to me on a sectioned plate like this one. Although I'm pretty sure I ate more than just yogurt, which is all this little monkey had for lunch today.
A few other things we've done lately...
Built block towers with Uncle Ryan
Looked for worms and bugs in the backyard with "Yogi" (more commonly known as Jonas)
Helped Mom and Dad wash the car...with some help from our "nay-nay" (neighbour) Mackenzie who came over to play.

Family Day
I had the day off work today so we celebrated a belated Mother's Day with a family trip to White Rock. It was a beautiful day and Hudson was excited to be at the beach. He ran in tide pools, scooped rocks with his dump truck, stepped on shells and walked to the end of the pier and back. We all enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading home, where one little family member fell asleep in the car.

Cool Rider
Last Sunday after church Hudson got a chance to "drive" our friend Jon's truck. He happily played with the steering wheel and then moved to turning all the dials on the CD player. Jon said "he knows the sound system matters most" but little did Jon know that in our car Hudson often requests to listen to "lull-byes" which is a CD of instrumental Christian songs. The whole way home from church Hudson said "Jon...Jon truck...more Jon truck."

Yesterday we attended a church in Abbotsford where Keith was guest-preaching. Outside Hudson found this motorcycle and was excited when the owner let him sit on it. He also found a switch he could turn on and off and got right to work on that.
We'll see what next Sunday holds...

Everything's A Game
For a few weeks now Keith and I have been suffering from a randomly rattly bed. At night it will just start to rattle and creak, and if one of us moves it might make it better or worse. So this week Keith decided to take off the mattress and see if he could fix the rattling.
Hudson was keen to help. He would circle the mattress.
Then climb over it.
Then crawl into the bed frame, pick up the screwdriver and jam it towards a screw.
Then climb over the bed frame and start his circuit again.
Little did he know this was actually more of a distraction than a help.

Fun with Ella & Juju
Hudson got to spend Saturday afternoon with Ella and Juju who were visiting while their parents were at a wedding. They arrived when Hudson was still having his afternoon nap and asked us several times if they could wake him up because they were so excited to play. Hudson is usually pretty lethargic after his nap, but not after seeing his friends.
