June in Kelowna

The kids and I spent a long weekend in Kelowna while Keith attended the church mens' retreat and did some projects around the house.  We had a great time and enjoyed some nice weather while we were away.
We traveled to Kelowna with the Teeters (minus Mike), so the van had two babies, two tddlers, two moms and one small dog.  Everyone did very well on both trips, with only minimal crying on the trip about things such as not wanting to be on the highway (Ethan), not liking the show Ethan picked to watch (Hudson), and being lonely in the backseat (Hailey).
Hudson got right to work playing in the playhouse and "bossing" around Papa, Grandma, Uncle Tom and Aunty Sara.
He also caught up on some yard work while wearing an oven mitt on his hand and a mini-flashlight on his wrist.
We spent a sunny Friday night watching Uncle Tom's soccer team win their game.
And Hudsy cruised through what he called "Okanagan Lake" (a big puddle) on his strider.
Hudson trotted out of his room one day wearing these goggles and said "I have my sunglasses on" and proceeded to wear them on the car trip from Ridgewood to the park downtown.  For his bike ride, though, he wore them around his neck.
Hudson has become quite a confident strider in the past few weeks and is really enjoying biking.  He also enjoys fixing his bike (see picture below, using twigs as tools) just like he's seen on a episode of Curious George.
We spent one morning fishing, with Hailey doing more sleeping than fishing.  Hudson really caught on to the idea that there was a worm on the hook and we wanted the fish to eat the worm.  He'd walk around saying "Come on fish, eat that worm."  He also fell in love with Papa's bobber, which he brought home.  He played with it in the bath last night and slept with it too.
We caught one fish, using corn as bait!
Hudsy was afraid to hold it on a stick, but he was excited to hold it in the net.  He kept asking if it would run away, not realizing that the fish was dead.
Hailey charmed us all with her smiles and coos.  She also continued to perfect her army crawl.  She is now quite fast.
She also found a new best friend.

We bought an outdoor sun tent at a garage sale.  Aunty Sara set it up in the house to play with, but Hudson ended up deciding to sleep in it.  We moved his mattress into the tent and got him all cozied up for a good night's sleep.  He even had Papa crawl into the tent to read him a Bible story before bed.

And after a hot trip home, Hudson was happy to settle into playing water table in the backyard last night, outfit quite questionable.
