Cultus Lake

This past week we took our annual summer trip to Cultus Lake with my family. This year Ryan, Laura, Reese and Holly were able to join us. The weather was amazing and we spent lots of time at the lake. All of the kids were water bugs, swimming, splashing, squirting and jumping....usually in life jackets.
I love watching Reese and Hailey together. They are very sweet friends and do a lot of laughing together.
In this game, Hailey and Reese took turns pulling one another from one dock to the other, switching roles when they reached the other side.

Hudson liked to find rocks for my Dad, Keith, Ryan and Tom to skip.
We spent time reading and playing games in the cottage. (No one is expecting a new baby. That book just happened to be on the shelf.) Hudson learned how to play Scrabble from Sara and Tom - a version that didn't require the words to connect. Hudson often played the word Rio, no doubt influenced by the Olympics.

We took our annual trip to the Cultus Lake Amusement Park. All the kids were brave enough to ride the "big rides." At one point on a scarier ride I reached over to hold Hailey's hand, anticipating she may be nervous. She pushed it away and threw her arms up in the air instead.

And we took our semi-annual family photos.
Hudson thought sitting backwards was the most hilarious "funny face."
