We had a lot of snow this winter, well at least by lower mainland standards. The kids were good sports about putting on all of their snow gear and have enjoyed playing outside, "helping" Keith shovel and making snow angels and fresh tracks. As motivation to get Hudson out the door for school in the morning Keith tells him he can help scrape ice off his car.
We have developed a new tradition of a family games night once a week. Hudson arranged different teams to play Uno - Huds and Dad, Huds and Mom, then Huds and Hailey. It was sweet to see Hudson show Hailey how to play.
These two keep busy after school with lots of artwork (Hailey) and lists/projects (Hudson). They also like to watch shows together. One of them chooses the show and one of them chooses the episode, though Hailey can be easily swayed by Hudson's "suggestions."
Hudson has developed an interest in Pokemon cards. I'm quite sure he doesn't really understand them, but he likes to trade them at school during recess and lunch. When he last went to get some at the store ($3 at Toy Traders!) Hailey really wanted some too. Now she REALLY doesn't understand them. But occasionally the two of them "play" or "trade" and seem to enjoy whatever it is they're doing.
More crafts, this time with Reesie.
Watching a show after a long day at school. They each got into these positions on their own.
A friend and I take turns watching each other's girls to give the other time alone. Hailey loves her time with Olivia (2) and plays with her very sweetly.
