Spring?

This picture epitomizes the "spring" we have had so far - dark, wet and cold. But the kids love their new umbrellas! And some days we have sunny spells.
Last week our little girl turned 4 1/2. She was VERY excited about this half birthday, wanting to have a party and gifts. We managed to work it down to Reese coming over to the afternoon, brownies for dessert after dinner and a small present (an Elsa notebook from the dollar store). As a part of her "party" she wanted to ride pedal bikes at the park with Reesie, since she recently mastered her pedal bike.

We celebrated Easter this weekend. Yesterday was a beautiful day and the kids enjoyed playing outside with Reese and Holly, riding bikes and having a small Easter egg hunt.
Today we went to a family Easter event sponsored by our realtor and the kids enjoyed getting their faces painted, finding a few more eggs, and playing at the playground.
Saturday we went to the zoo with the Teeters. We had four kids on pedal bikes for the first time, another milestone for Hailey.
Hailey had an Easter egg hunt at preschool last week, in the rain. She was very keen and found a lot of eggs.

In other happenings, I took the kids to Fort Langley one day (it began to rain when we arrived) to bike on the Fort to Fort trail. Hailey chose the practical outfit below for the outing.
We got an outdoor basketball hoop. Hudson played basketball on Friday nights this past year and really enjoyed it. So far it seems to be his favourite sport to play.
Over Spring Break we met our friends, the Lungs, at Funtopia and then went for lunch at McDonalds. The kids had a great time at the indoor climbing walls.
My Gramma found a 250 piece puzzle that is a map of Canada. Hudson and I made it one morning over Spring Break. He really likes puzzles and maps, so this was a great thrift store find for him.
Relaxing on the couch while tracking March Madness scores on the iPad.
 Watching March Madness.
Writing, writing, writing! Hudson uses a lot of paper every day making all kinds of lists, booklets, brackets and other projects.
The kids recently read Fantastic Mr. Fox with Keith.
And they love their painted faces :)
