While a new weekend is almost here, I've just found time to post some pictures of the fun we had last weekend! It was Ryan's birthday on Monday so on Saturday we gathered at their house for a birthday dinner. After dinner, Hudson was quick to take the empty Fanta bottle to the coffee table so he could take fake drinks and fake pour it into plastic cups.
When it was time for REALLY good gluten-free cupcakes and ice cream, Hudson was quick to sneak bites from Uncle Ryan and Aunty Laura.
On Sunday afternoon we traveled to Kent to visit Keith's parents and extended family for two days. Hudson was stoked about the snow! He kept going to the backdoor and saying "sow!", wanting Grandma or Grampy to take him outside on the deck to see the snow and wave at me and Keith through the kitchen window.
Great Aunt Linda knew how to woo Hudson - books! She brought over a few books to read. At first Hudson was interested but a bit standoffish, and as time passed he was nearly cuddled in her lap.
We took a walk and at first Hudson wanted to be holding hands (he was a bit worried about the steep hill) and then he was excited to run around on his own, sometimes stopping until we'd say "where's Hudson?" and then he'd start running again with delight.
Hudson played drums with Grampy and played with Grampy's drums. Two different but equally fun games.
And we visited Great Granddad, who turned 97 last week. Hudson quickly made himself at home, finding a flashlight button to push and a picture of "ray-ray" (reindeer) in the hallway. Granddad knew who Hudson was and thought he was quite active.
