End of the School Year

Hudson's year in kindergarten and Hailey's year in two-day preschool have come to an end. It's hard to believe it! In the final weeks of school Hudson had a couple of special days - one was a picnic in the park (on what turned out to be a rainy day) and another was Games Day. Hudson was on team red (he's got thumbs down for his blue shoes) and his team won - we went for a slurpee to celebrate.

Hudson with two of his favourite kindergarten friends - Lincoln and Kailey.
Hudson was blessed with an incredible teacher this year - Ms. Van Santen. She was very patient with Hudson's idiosyncrasies and very encouraging of his strengths. And Hudson loved her.
In true Hudson fashion, when I told him we'd take a picture of him on his last day of school, he remembered that we'd taken a picture of him on his first AND second day of school, so he wanted a picture of his last day AND second last day.
Sweet Hailey was a very brave preschooler this year. As one of the youngest in her class, she was often nervous when we left her, even on the very last day, but she always had a fun time. She learned lots of songs, knows all her letters and can count to 10. Her lovely teachers were Mrs. Stephanie and Mrs. Matildes.
After both kids finished school today we went for a special family lunch at Tim Hortons.
In other news, we celebrated Father's Day. We also got several costumes at a garage sale which the kids and their friends have been putting to good use.
