An exciting addition to our home this summer was a desk for Hailey's room. Hailey LOVES to colour and spends most of her days working away at different projects, so we decided it was time for her to have a desk in her room to work at.
Grammy came to visit and we celebrated her birthday. It seems, from the picture below, that the kids are shocked at her age - but she's actually quite young!
We spent a week in Kelowna and got to enjoy more time with Sawyer. Both kids love to hold him and play with him, but if he spits up they are quick to move away. One time Sara asked Hailey and I to hold Sawyer while she went for a swim in the lake. Hailey confidently told me she'd take care of him, unless he spit up, then I could take care of the spit up.
We went fishing at Boulder Lake - Hailey's first fishing trip!
Both kids did well fishing from shore with bobbers, though Hudson stuck with it more than Hailey did and therefore caught more fish.
Hailey was concerned about the canoe floating away, so always tied it up (to a small weed) when it was on shore. She also enjoyed a canoe ride with Keith, but didn't want to do any fishing from the canoe.
Hudson fished from the canoe this year which was a big step for him since he didn't even want to get into the canoe the last time he was at Boulder Lake.
We enjoyed time swimming in Okanagan Lake and playing in the sand.
With help from Grandma, Hudson learned a few magic tricks and put on a magic show one evening in my Grandma Kroeker's backyard.
We visited my Grandma Zac.
We went on a camping trip with the Teeters at Rolley Lake. This was our second summer camping together.
In true Hudson fashion, he invented a camping competition. He created several categories for which you could get points (biking, going on adventures, finding something amazing) and then provided updates on the standings each evening. Here he is calculating and then announcing points. Unfortunately there were no points for things like packing all the food, setting up the tent or ensuring all the kids were safe.
And Hailey got a new bike! Her old one was much too small and we found an adorable Cinderella bike at a second hand store. The pedals are hearts and the basket is the shape of a carriage. She loves it.
