This past week our sweet girl turned 5! She had two birthday gift requests - a locket and an "Elsa doll that is a stuffie." She called my Mom in the summer ask her to please get her a locket as a birthday gift. And anytime I asked her if there was anything she wanted for her birthday, she told me she wanted an "Elsa doll that is a stuffie, like Grace from preschool." I had no idea what this doll was, so I contacted Grace's mom and it turns out she has a Rapunzel doll, not an Elsa doll, but nonetheless I learned it came from the Disney Store and was able to find an Elsa version.
On her birthday we had brownies and ice cream, a fave of Hailey's, though she likes the brownie and ice cream to be in separate bowls.
On Saturday we had Hailey's birthday party. Of course Reese and Holly came, as well as several friends from school and church and our cousin Montana. Hailey requested that Montana be invited to come as a "helper."
Hailey had a very specific vision for her party. She wanted Elsa plates, cups and napkins. She saw them at Party City when we were there in the spring and she never forgot about them. She also read a book called Fancy Nancy's Tea Party and wanted to incorporate many ideas from that book. She wanted to make butterfly placemats as a craft, have a centrepiece of flowers in a teapot, and have namecards made of marshmallows and a lollipop.
Below: Reese, Avery, (kindie) Holly, Norah (church), Hailey, Everleigh (kindie), Zoah (kindie), Lia (preschool).
She also wanted cupcakes with pink icing.
Happy Birthday Sweet Hailey! We can't imagine life without you. You are my favourite girl in the whole world.
