One year ago, at 38 weeks pregnant, Keith and I walked the Houston Trail on a sunny, February day. Today Hudson and I met up with a friend at the Houston Trail, on another beautiful February day. It's hard to decide if it was more difficult walking up the hills with Hudson in the womb or Hudson in the stroller.
Hudson still loves to pull books off the bookshelf. Earlier this week Keith picked him up to put him in his high chair for dinner and Hudson kept a death grip on this book and then began leafing through it. It's a Margaret Atwood novel (Surfacing), and for me it was one of her most difficult novels. I clearly remember discussing it in class at TWU and my prof saying "now who did she see at the bottom of the lake?" and I thought "she SAW someone at the bottom of the lake?" These types of difficult novels, however, do not deter my dear Hudson.
