Happy Groundhog Day!

Groundhog Day has been Keith's favourite holiday for many years. And since we've been married I help him celebrate the day by baking him a cake. This year I branched out from what I usually make and made "THE" cake that Momma Reed usually makes for birthdays. Visually it appears the same, but the taste test will be in a few hours. And the cake is pictured here with my tulips to show that good ol' Phil said spring is on the way!

On Sunday we went to a friend's house for dinner and the Burkinshaw twins were there. One of the sweet girls was sleeping on the couch and Hudson was determined to stand up at the couch and reach for her. We put the piano bench in front of the couch to prevent Hudson from injuring or waking the sleeping beauty, but he crawled under the bench and reached his little hand up, still determined to grab her. When he couldn't, he cried.

I let Hudson play in the tupperware drawer yesterday for the first time. He was delighted and got right to work eating lids and putting things on the floor.

What do you do when you don't want any more of your bottle, but you still want to be sucking something AND you want Mom to think you're still eating? You take out your bottle, put it right next to your mouth, and pop in your soother.

Finally, Hudson's Groundhog Day specs: 21 lbs 5 oz, 30 inches long.
