Over the weekend we got Hudson a "bike" off of Craig's List. It's actually a Fisher Price Rock, Roll & Ride Trike. Very cool. It allows us to push him on it for now (via the big red handle) and then later on the handle comes off so he can cruise around on his own. The only problem right now is that, while we're pushing him, he refuses to keep his feet on the foot rests so his feet occasionally drag on the ground making him come to an abrupt stop. On Sunday we pushed him around in the backyard. On Monday his friend Jonas stopped by with his Strider bike. The two of them sat on their bikes in the backyard and looked at each other. Later in the day we pushed Hudson to and from the park on his bike and he seemed to really like it.
Next on the shopping list is a bike helmet. When my brother Ryan was young he rode one of these things down our VERY steep driveway, injuring himself and giving my mother a heart attack. With some of that Uncle Ryan adventure in his blood, Hudson needs a helmet.
