We spent last week on vacation, visiting with Keith's family and celebrating Grandpa Deaver's 90th birthday.
We spent the first part of the week at the Washington Coast with 25 relatives all collected to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. Here is the birthday boy with the littlest birthday guest.
Grandpa with his five great grandchildren. Notice how Hudson has his arm around Etta - they were really good buddies.
The weather was rainy, but we still got in some time at the beach.

Grammy did lots of wagon pulling.
My view of Hailey asleep in the ergo. So precious.
Etta wasn't afraid of the cold ocean water, but she did need to put on Hudsy's dry coat when she was finished playing.
Etta and Hailey in another matching outfit - it never gets old!
Grammy was very attentive to Hudson's convoluted games.
Little Hailey cut her first top tooth while we were away. Grampy was very good at cuddling her and putting her to sleep.
Here you can see both the drool of teething and a glimpse of the top pearly white making its initial appearance.
One day Hudsy thought it was too windy at the beach so he coaxed Aunt Kiki into the car to have a snack with him, safe from the wind.
When we returned to Kent Hudson got right to work playing marbleworks for most of the day everyday.

He also played drums.
And the girls raided the bathroom drawers. Hailey was so eager to see in the drawer that she swung herself forward in the jolly jumper and then held onto the drawer, keeping herself suspended in midair.
We spent a day at the Woodland Park Zoo. All the kids enjoyed it, and the adults did too!
Hudson especially loved the orangutangs. He also loved a button you pressed that made an elephant sound. We tried to refocus him on the real animals that were there for us to look at.
Etta loved Hailey ("baby Hay") and was quick to shower her with kisses.
We also took a trip to the Elliott Farm - a family Keith was friends with growing up. Etta and Hudson loved the cows, tractors, donkeys and rides around the fields in the utility truck.
We took a trip to a nearby waterpark where Hudsy made a friend. He literally walked up to this kid, took his hand, and led him through the waterpark. It was so cute.

We played in Grammy and Grampy's backyard.
And on our last day we went to Great Grandpa's house on Lake Sawyer to enjoy the sun.

Hudson was excited to go on a boat ride around the lake. He was especially excited about the frogs he imagined he saw on the lilly pads.
And Hailey got in a few last minute cuddles.
It was a great trip and a great way to kick off the summer. We've returned home to a heat wave so summer is officially here!
