While we were in Kelowna Hudson went on his first fishing trip with my Dad, Keith and Tom. Hudson has wanted to go to Boulder Lake since last summer. At that time we told him he couldn't go because there wasn't room in the canoe (the real reason being we weren't sure he had the attention span for it) and he responded that he'd just stay on shore. Needless to say, when the big day came around this summer he was thrilled.
Holding the worms on the ride to the lake.
Hudson stayed on shore on "the island" for the day, with the guys taking turns in the canoe or on shore with Hudsy. Hudson enjoyed casting from shore and caught a few fish. He quickly caught on to the lingo, like "fish on," and was confident in his new skill. He even told my Dad he could teach other people how to fish now. My Dad asked who and Hudson said "Ethan."
A few other summer photos that I missed yesterday...
While the boys were fishing the girls went to the mall. Hailey found a purse at my Mom's house and carried it along with her. Another day, Hailey ate a snack on the front steps while waiting for my Mom to come home from doing errands.
We visited my Grandma Zac. The kids enjoyed colouring pictures on their magna doodles and either asking my Grandma to guess what they were (often Hudson's imaginary "white fur dog") or having her add something to the picture (like apples to a tree).
At church after Holly's dedication.
Back at home Hudson has been busy. Above are some cages for small animals and below is his own juke box. Like Papa's juke box, Hudson's is in the basement. He presses a letter and number on the magnet board, then chooses a CD and plays a song in his CD player.
