Hudson loved attending Awana all Fall. As luck would have it, my Mom was in town for Grandparents' Night and got to go with Hudson one evening. My Mom's luck continued when Hudson volunteered her to recite, in front of the whole group, a verse she had just memorized that night :)
The cousins enjoyed a movie and popcorn one evening.
We celebrated my Mom's 60th birthday. The girls all dressed up and went for High Tea at Tracycakes in Murrayville.
And the next day the whole family went out for brunch.
In the past 6 months my parents have celebrated their 40th anniversary and both turned 60 - a big year!
Sawyer was in town for the birthday celebrations and we all loved getting to see him. Hudson especially loves having matching pj's with Sawyer.
Around the house, the kids keep very busy. Hailey, always climbing and flipping around, has been making hideouts.
Below is a bunk bed she made.
Perler beads are sometimes still fun (above), but their favourite thing to do is write....on paper....lots of paper....all the time. While some parents are trying to avoid stepping on lego or Barbie shoes, we're constantly finding paper and pencils around the house and asking the kids "is this keep or recycle?"
We decorated our Christmas tree and Hudson and Hailey each got a new ornament - Elsa for Hailey and Chewbaca for Hudson.
They kids each had a skating field trip and as luck would have it they were at the same time so I got to see both of them skate.
On Sundays after church we often watch football as we eat lunch. Hailey has announced she doesn't like football so for the past few weeks she has watched Peppa Pig on the iPad while she eats.
Hailey had Grinch day at school and dressed up like a Who.
We visited Santa at the Port Kells Nursery.
And the kids have been preparing for their school Christmas concert - it's called A Pirate Christmas. Hudson needed a pirate costume and though Hailey needed a Hawaiian costume she wanted me to use the extra fabric from Hudson's costume to make her a pirate costume too. For the past two days they have been busy preparing their own original production of A Pirate Christmas, with a similar theme to the school concert but different songs and script. They plan to perform it for Grammy when she arrives tomorrow.
