This weekend we had a spontaneous visit from Aunty Sara - she arrived on Friday and left this morning. She was very helpful with Hudson - holding him, playing with him and feeding him - they had a great time together. She also played a lot of Monopoly Deal with Melissa and Keith, and watched a lot of One Tree Hill with Melissa. Thanks for visiting, Sara. It was great to have you!
We all also went to a backyard party to celebrate our friend Laura's birthday. Hudson's friend Jonas was there and at one point he swaggered over and climbed right up on Melissa's lap. We think he wanted to be closer to Hudson. He may also have a small crush on Melissa since he was holding her hand.
Our good friends Joel and Emily came for a short visit with their son Ethan. Ethan wanted to hug Hudson....repeatedly. Ethan would give Hudson one hug, then back off and do the sign for "more," then lean in for another one. It was very cute. Hopefully he is this affectionate with his new brother or sister that's coming in October!
Melissa and her friend Laura had made plans to do some canning this weekend and Sara was a very helpful addition to the work. We canned dill pickles and homemade salsa. Sara and Melissa tried anything to stop their eyes from burning when chopping onions for the salsa.
And, of course, Hudson continues to be the cutest little boy we know!
