Mommy Moments

Hudson continues to be a big mover around our house. And somehow he just knows what he should not play with and he wants to only play with that. Case and point below...I made him a nice play area in our great room, filled with colours and age appropriate toys and books. Hudson chooses to play by the back door, sucking on the door stop and banging on the back door.
Also this week Hudson chose not to play with the toys I had for him on the bedroom floor and rather crawled into the bathroom, knocked over the garbage can and started to play with a kleenex and a hairball. Ahhh! He has become quite a proficient crawler, using the more traditional two knees approach now. And he is quickest at it as he bolts towards the TV, which is the one thing we are trying to teach him not to touch.

I am trying to teach Hudson to eat more finger foods, so at each meal I feed him a few things with a spoon and then leave other things on his tray for him to work on. Here he is enjoying a feast of grapefruit (which he LOVES) and black beans. I am also trying to teach him the sign for "all done" but he usually shows me he's all done by starting to drop food on the floor.
Another mommy moment for me this week was when I was getting ready to take Hudson to his first swimming class, called Little Squirts. It seems he somehow knows when I'm taking him to do something that's all about him and he chooses that time to be most difficult. He cried and squirmed while I got him dressed, did a major back bend when I tried to get him into his carseat, and cried quite a bit in the car on the way to the pool. Why am I doing this again?
