Hudson & Melissa go to Ontario

Over the weekend Hudson and I traveled to Ontario for the wedding of one of my dearest friends from university, Jenn. I did most of the packing one day while Hudson was napping, but when he got up he noticed that I had forgotten a few important things he wanted to bring along and he quickly filled up the remaining space in the suitcase with all of his stuffed animals.
Our flight to Toronto was great! Hudson didn't sleep but he was happy to watch Baby Einstein, read books, eat raisins, play with his puzzle and walk around the aisle a bit making friends. In Ontario we stayed with my friend Brenda at her parents' house and Hudson was happy to play with her son Levi. Levi is 20 months, Hudson is 17 months, but Levi insisted on calling Hudson "baby Hudsy" and sometimes just "Hudsy." They were very cute together.
The wedding was beautiful and, despite the record breaking weather in the east, not uncomfortably hot. I didn't get a good picture of the couple (get it together Melissa!), but here you can see the happy couple (with Jenn looking down) and in the one below you can see us 4 good TWU friends. Jenn looked beautiful and her face was glowing. It was exciting to see her married and so happy! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Hahn!
I liked the food and the speeches at the reception, but Ethan fell asleep in boredom...with his cute little hands folded :)
Then it was time to head home. Hudson spent the pre-boarding time in the airport relaxing with crossed legs and eating a ton of crackers.
Our flight home yesterday wasn't nearly as pleasant as our flight there! It was 5.5 hours instead of 4 hours and Hudson was overtired even before we got on the flight where he once again did not sleep. It took a lot more energy for me to keep him entertained and not crying and he ate more raisins that a grown adult should in a week. I even gave him a sip of coke, which the flight attendant gave to me by the can recognizing how tired I was. And then with 1.5 hours left (which turned out to be 2!) we took some time to pray in the bathroom and cry by the cockpit before Hudson rallied and played happily for the rest of the flight. Here he is using his diaper bag as a chair while he reads a book.
All in all it was a great trip...but it will be some time before I fly alone with Hudson again :)
