Kent Visit

We spent a week in early August in Kent with Keith's family.   The weather was great and the company was even better.

We spent one day at Grandpa Deaver's house on Lake Sawyer.  Hudson was very brave in the water and enjoyed a canoe ride over to the lily pads he likes.  We also went for a walk over to the garage where Grandpa stores his antique cars.
And Hailey spent some time in Etta's cowboy boots.

Another day we went to a Mariner's game - Hudson's first baseball game!  Thanks to some hand-me-downs from a friend, Hudson and Etta had matching Ken Griffey Jr. shirts to wear.
Hudson and Etta did great during the game (Louise and Hailey stayed home with Grammy) and Hudson even ended up on the jumbotron!

Back at Grammy and Grampy's house, the kids found lots of things to keep them busy, from reading books with Grampy, to husking corn, to finding blackberry bushes and eating them like a wild animal (Hailey only).

We spent another morning at the Seattle Children's Museum.  Hudson, Etta and Hailey loved it.  Hudson especially loved the area where he got to build ramps and roll balls down them.  The girls especially loved the pretend grocery store.

Louise loved napping and eating :)
We had another opportunity for a wonderful family photo in front of the fountains at the Seattle Center.

Although it wasn't quite Grammy's birthday while we were there, we decided to celebrate a bit early since we were all together.  Caroline and I planned a beach themed party with a cake covered in "sand" (brown sugar), a shark pinata and a wading pool for the kids.

And of course we posed for our annual family photo.  This year was especially difficult, with a 4.5 year old, 2.5 year old, 1.5 year old and a newborn, but the three girls are all in matching dresses.
